Start with Phuket's beach and Old Town, travel inland to Khao Sok, then finish around Ao Nang and Railay. This version gives the three regions actual days and counts the road journeys, lake arrangements and final airport night.
The route at a glance

Road transfer on day 8, then Railay/Phra Nang, local beach time and Krabi Town. Koh Lanta is an alternative base.

Stay in Krabi, return to Phuket, or fly to Bangkok according to the international ticket; no remote-island departure is assumed on day 14.

Days 1–4: Phuket's west coast and Old Town
Choose Kata or Karon if the first part of the trip is mainly about the beach. Choose Phuket Town for shophouses, museums and food streets, accepting a drive for a beach visit. Stay in the same accommodation for these four nights. Day one is arrival; day two can be your local beach day.
Give day three to Thalang Road, Soi Romanee, Dibuk Road and lunch in the Old Town. For day four, compare a Phang Nga Bay excursion with another land-based day, checking the operator's actual pickup and pier before booking. Phuket Smart Bus publishes routes and tracking for supported journeys; compare the relevant stop with your hotel rather than assuming every hotel is on the route.
Days 5–7: distinguish Khao Sok village from Cheow Lan Lake
Travel inland on day five with the exact hotel address agreed. Accommodation around Khlong Sok village and the park headquarters is not at the lake pier. Cheow Lan Lake is the reservoir at Ratchaprapha Dam, also written Rajjaprabha; lake visits need a separate road-and-boat arrangement. Ask where pickup starts and where the trip finishes before choosing your room.
A straightforward three-night version stays near the village: arrival on day five, a guided forest or river activity on day six, and an arranged lake day on day seven. Alternatively, replace one village night with a floating-stay package. Confirm boat transfers, meals, park fees, luggage storage and the return time. Check current park instructions for each trail or cave rather than assuming every advertised activity is open.
Days 8–12: Ao Nang, Railay and Krabi Town
Transfer to Ao Nang on day eight. It gives this route a mainland base with restaurants and boat departures, while keeping the hotel-to-airport journey on the road. Use one full day for a boat to Railay, the walk between the Railay beach areas and Phra Nang, with your return arrangement checked before setting off.
Across the remaining days, choose local beach time, an island excursion sold for your actual date, and a Krabi Town visit around the riverfront and Chao Fah food area. A Koh Lanta version replaces all five Ao Nang nights: choose a west-coast beach base, arrange the complete transfer from Khao Sok and check the journey back to your departure airport. Do not assume an inter-island speedboat operates throughout the year.
Compare the whole transfer and the actual boat product
For Phuket → Khao Sok and Khao Sok → Ao Nang, request a dated door-to-door road-transfer quote from the accommodation or an operator. Ask whether the price is private or shared, where a shared journey changes vehicles, and whether the quoted destination is the hotel or a town drop-off. This guide does not assume a through minivan service.
For an excursion, compare the named departure pier, hotel collection area, type of boat, passenger numbers, meals and park fees. Ask what happens if the operator cancels or removes a stop. National-park access and sea conditions can change the programme. A trip called 'Phi Phi' or 'Phang Nga Bay' is not enough detail to compare two offers.
Days 13–14: match the last night to the international ticket
If you fly home from Krabi, the thirteenth night can be in Krabi Town, near the airport, or at the same Ao Nang hotel if the transfer suits your departure time. If the flight leaves Phuket, return to Phuket on day thirteen. For a Bangkok departure, book that domestic journey on day thirteen and check whether it uses the same Bangkok airport as the international flight.
From Koh Lanta or any other island substitute, leave the island on day thirteen and include the road or ferry leg in the booking. The final-night allowance is already inside the thirteen-night total. It provides another place to stay if a connection needs separating; it does not establish protection between independently booked tickets.
For the Gulf: six nights Samui, six Phangan, one gateway night
A complete Gulf alternative is nights one to six on Samui, nights seven to twelve on Phangan, and night thirteen at the departure gateway. Compare Bophut for village restaurants with Chaweng for a busier Samui base. On Phangan, compare Thong Sala for port and town access with Thong Nai Pan for a beach stay requiring a separate road transfer. Check the exact arrival pier and hotel pickup.
Use Lomprayah or your chosen operator's dated search for the island transfer, including any bus or hotel component. On day thirteen, return to Samui for a suitable departure or continue to Bangkok if the international ticket requires it. TMD publishes separate southern east- and west-coast forecasts; compare the coast for your travel period without treating any month as guaranteed beach weather.

Questions worth answering
Is Khao Sok village on Cheow Lan Lake?
No. The village/park-headquarters area and the lake departure area are different locations. Check the address, road transfer and boat arrangements before booking a lake day or floating stay.
Can I use Koh Lanta instead of Ao Nang?
Yes. Replace the five-night Ao Nang stay with five nights on Koh Lanta, arrange the complete transfer from Khao Sok and leave for your departure gateway on day thirteen.
Does the main route need a ferry between hotel bases?
The Phuket–Khao Sok–Ao Nang version uses road transfers between those bases. Boats are separate choices for the lake, Railay or sea excursions. Changing the coast base to an island changes the transfer plan.
