Town beach or Khao Takiab
- THE IDEA
- Sand in town or a hilltop temple
- USEFUL TO KNOW
- Khao Takiab is a separate trip south of the centre.
For a town-based first look, choose Hua Hin Beach and combine it with the centre rather than booking an excursion. The tourism authority identifies the central beach as one of the town's main attractions; the station and night market give you other named stops for the same stay.
Khao Takiab is the option for a different view: the bay sits below a hilltop Buddhist temple south of town. Choose it for the temple-and-coast combination, not because it is another entrance to the central beach. Check the return ride before adding a market stop on the way back.
TOWN FOOD
Dinner on Dechanuchit Road
- THE IDEA
- A food-led evening in central Hua Hin
- USEFUL TO KNOW
- Seafood sold by weight needs a clear total.

Hua Hin Night Market runs along Dechanuchit Road, between Phetkasem Road and the railway side of town. Head here for a choice of cooked-to-order food, seafood restaurants and desserts rather than a single set meal. Mango sticky rice is one of the sweets highlighted in the tourism authority's market guide.
Start with the menu and ask how your seafood is priced before ordering. A per-weight display is not a per-dish total. If everyone wants something different, browsing the food stalls is more flexible than committing the whole group to a large seafood order.
WEEKEND EVENING
Cicada for a weekend market with art
- THE IDEA
- Handmade stalls, food and performances
- USEFUL TO KNOW
- Not an every-night market.
Cicada Market in Nong Kae is the arts-and-food choice. Its mix includes handmade goods, visual art and performance spaces, so it suits an evening where shopping and browsing matter as much as dinner. The operator currently advertises Friday, Saturday and Sunday opening.
Use its own page to check the day's programme before heading south. The venue has a food area, but a listed theatre event or music performance can have its own arrangements. On a weekday, choose the central night market instead of assuming Cicada will be open.
ART & WORKSHOPS
Swap the beach for Baan Sillapin
- THE IDEA
- Studios, galleries and a creative activity
- USEFUL TO KNOW
- Inland; workshop availability is separate from browsing.
Baan Sillapin Artists Village is the alternative to another beach stop. The site brings studios, galleries and hands-on arts activities together, with work across painting, sculpture and crafts. It is a useful choice if someone in the group would rather make or browse something than swim.
Arrange the outward and return journey to the artists' village rather than treating it as part of the beachfront strip. If you want a workshop, ask what is running that day, its materials charge and how long it takes. Gallery browsing and a scheduled class are different visits.
THE LITTLE THINGS YOU MIGHT BE WONDERING
Before you decide.
Which market should I choose?
The central night market is the straightforward food choice in town. Cicada is farther south and adds art and performance, but its operator advertises Friday–Sunday rather than daily opening.
What can I do instead of the beach?
Baan Sillapin offers an arts-focused visit; check workshop availability if making something is the reason for going. Khao Takiab combines a hilltop temple with the coast, while the central market is a food-led evening option.
Will saving this create plans in My Diary?
No. Saving keeps the guide as an idea. Choose what to add to a day yourself; nothing here makes a booking or changes your trip automatically.
