Decide whether you want the Railway Centre, a train ride, or both before buying a package. They deliver different things. Ask for admission, rail tickets and transfers to be itemised instead of assuming a 'River Kwai tour' includes every part.
A Good Times dinner can be a straightforward riverside meal without adding a cruise. Price the dishes and drinks you actually want, then include the journey back to your hotel; the river location alone is not evidence of either a bargain or a luxury price.

Don Rak / station area: Thailand–Burma Railway Centre and Kanchanaburi railway station area. The bridge is another stop, not the same station-side sight.
River Kwai / Good Times area: Good Times Resort and Restaurant. Check actual distances to the bridge and old town; not every river property is central.
Pak Phraek old town: Pak Phraek Road and the old city wall. Plan a separate ride if your priorities are the railway museum and bridge.
