THE BANGKOK FIELD GUIDE
Bangkok.
Good finds. Your budget.
Where to spend less—and what costs extra.
Food, sights and transport in Bangkok: compare the places and price the choices you want.
See the places & practical links
For a lower-spend outing, use Talat Noi's public lanes and Chinatown's streets as the setting. Purchases at Timo and Tintin, individual food stalls and any private venue are optional costs, not an admission-free food tour.
Here are specific ways to explore Bangkok without assuming a package price. The map and provider links let you choose the places, then check the costs that actually apply to you.

Useful booking options01 / PLACES TO START
The places that make the budget work.
- THE IDEA
- Named walks, food stops and optional visits.
- USEFUL TO KNOW
- Paid admissions, meals and transfers are separate purchases.

Choose one paid cultural visit deliberately: Wat Pho lists 300 baht for foreign visitors, while Museum Siam is a separate ticket. Supanniga's riverside dining is an upgrade; inspect its branch menu and service/tax terms rather than counting it as a budget noodle meal.
For an evening-only visit, choose Yaowarat for browsing and individual food orders instead of buying a whole-day sightseeing package you cannot use. Price each order at the stall; decide separately whether a reserved Wat Arun-view restaurant table is the part worth spending more on.
02 / WHAT YOUR ADDRESS CHANGES
Stay near the things you came for.
- THE IDEA
- Compare the journeys your accommodation creates.
- USEFUL TO KNOW
- A low room rate can come with additional transport costs.
Old City / Tha Tien: Wat Pho and Museum Siam Not the same district as Sukhumvit nightlife.
Talat Noi / Chinatown: Soi Wanit 2 and Yaowarat Road Check the room's street and evening noise rather than relying on the neighbourhood label.
Thonglor: Supanniga Thonglor lists BTS Thong Lo Exit 3 The riverside temple cluster requires a separate journey.
THE LITTLE THINGS YOU MIGHT BE WONDERING
Before you decide.
Why is there no single daily total?
A total needs current meal prices, the activities you choose and your actual starting point. Any specific fare or price quoted above is tied to a source; use a current menu or provider quote for the other purchases you choose.
Does this include accommodation and arriving here?
No. Compare your room, arrival transfer and any major excursion separately. The choices above describe places to explore and the costs to check, not a package or a guaranteed minimum budget.
Will saving this create plans in My Diary?
No. Saving keeps the guide as an idea. Choose what to add to a day yourself; nothing here makes a booking or changes your trip automatically.
GOOD FINDS. YOUR DIARY.
Not planning yet?
Keep the idea.
Save this guide to your favourites. It stays an idea—not an automatic plan in your trip.
